On Saturday, June 6, 2009 the Cat Clinic of Cobb held an open house to raise donations for Daffy's Pet Soup Kitchen, a local organization that supplies free pet food to families that are struggling to keep their pets.
A hospital tour during the open house included ten stations providing information on "keeping your cats well in a sick economy". Catnappers Bed and Breakfast hosted an exhibition of beautiful purebred cats on loan from our clients. Photographer Donna Sheffield took professional photographs of cats, donating all the sitting fees to Daffy's. SpaDreams raffled off a one-hour massage for the cause, and Rita's Ice of Sprayberry Square provided delicious treats with the proceeds going to Daffy's. Barbeque was served courtesy of Pfizer Animal Health and 50 helium balloons were supplied by Balloons by Bernadette. Representatives from Good Mews, the Humane Society of Cobb County, and Daffy's Pet Soup Kitchen set up booths to educate visitors about cat adoptions, pet care, and volunteer opportunities.
A good time was had by all, as over 200 of our friends turned out to help us celebrate. Best of all, they donated over $1300 and a truck load of pet food to Daffy's Pet Soup Kitchen. Way to go!!!
